Good Neighbors Tanzania, based in Dar Es Salaam, has started its operation since 2005 and currently implemented various projects in nine (9) regions throughout the United Republic of Tanzania including Mwanza, Dodoma, Shinyanga, Pwani, Dar es salaam, Morogoro, Songwe, Zanzibar and Kigoma.

Position: Finance Manager
Reports to: Managing Director
Location: Dar es Salaam
Contract Duration: 1-year contract
Finance Manager will be responsible for managing the financial activities of the organization, ajira including financial analysis and planning, accounting operations and reporting, budgeting and external audit and ensuring legal and regulatory compliance of the financial functions and reporting.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and manage the finance department in order to meet expected goals.
- Manage the creation, improvement and implementation of financial policies and procedures for the organization.
- Oversee the routine generation of timely and accurate internal and external financial reports, including monthly and annual financial statements.
- Advise management in financial decision-making and systems development and improvement.
- Oversee the accuracy of the organizational accounting records and maintain proper financial record for all offices.
- Prepare and analyse accurate monthly financial and management reports
- Ensure that all financial transactions are processed accurately, in a timely manner, and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
- Assist in coordinating the preparation and completion of the audited financial statements and all tax returns.
- Any other related duty as may be assigned.
Qualification, experiences, and competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field
- At least 7 Years’ experience in financial management
- Solid experience in coordinating audit activities and managing reporting, budget development and analysis, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger,
- Proficiency with Quick books or other accounting software and excellent Excel skills.
- Problem-solving skills, Creative and Innovative, Strategic in Decision making, Flexibility.
