Morogoro Municipal Council is the provincial headquarters. It is one of the oldest cities in the history of Tanzania [called Tanganyika] in the 18th century. The Arabs used Morogoro as their resting place during the slave trade and before sending them to the far east for trading through the port of Dar es Salaam at sea. the Indian.
Residents of Morogoro Municipal Council are a mix of different ethnic groups. The tribe that are members of this Council are the Luguru. Morogoro rose to the status of a city in 1962. The rate of expansion of the City Council increased gradually and on 1/7/1988 it increased to a municipality. Given the various geographical, economic and environmental opportunities, efforts are being made through various Councils and Stakeholders to develop the Municipality in various fields to achieve the City's future.
