Beneficiaries of Basic Education Free of charge to begin Form Four Graduation Exams
Phase One students who started their Form One through a free Basic Education program implemented by the Phase Five Government under the leadership of Mr. John Pombe Joseph Magufuli, President of the United Republic of Tanzania will begin their final Form Graduation on 04/11/2019.This was noted by the Minister of State in the Presidency of Regional Administration and Local Government Mr Selemani Jafo when he spoke to reporters at the Minority Offices of Magogoni in Dar es Salaam on 03/11/2019.
He said the Secondary Education Qualification Test, Form Four 2019 is expected to take place across the country from 04 to 22 November 2019. In parallel with the exam, the National Form two examination (expected from 11 to 22 November, 2019) and The National Form four exams will take place on November 20 and 21, 2019, in accordance with the procedures laid down by the Examinations Council of Tanzania (NECTA).
“I must remind my fellow Tanzanians that the students starting their exams on the fourth Monday of Graduation started Form One in January 2016 immediately after the Phase Five Government came to power. In other words, these are Phase One students who started their Form One education through a free Basic Education program, we as a government are proud of that ”» said Jafo
He added that a total of 485,866 Candidates (229,838 boys and 256,028 girls) are expected to perform Form Four Examination. Of these, 433,052 school candidates and 52,814 self-employed candidates.
“This year there is an increase of 5871 candidates equivalent to 1.37 percent compared to 2018 graduates who grew 427,181 while in 2019 Candidates are 433,052”. said Jafo.
He explained that Statistics show the number of Graduates Form four has been increasing year-on-year and from 2016 the Form Four Examination was 349,524, 2017 317,777 students, 2018 427,181 students and 2019 433,052 students.
As a result, from 2016 to this year, a total of 83,528 students equivalent to 23.9 percent increased.
Jafo added that from these figures it is clear that the demand for education opportunities is increasing among our community and the predominantly rural Tanzanians are now taking their children to school as never before.
"These figures also require all of us - Government, Citizens and other education stakeholders to come together to ensure that we assist the Government in contributing to the development of education for our children and for our future generations" said Jafo.
At the same time Jafo explained how the Phase Five Government has continued to invest significantly in education and said that by 2019/20, the Government has allocated a budget of TZS 288,485,000,000.00 to implement a free primary education program for all students from Elementary to Formal Education. Fourth.
The government will also continue to provide food money for Form Five and Six pupils to all public schools.
In addition, Jafo used the opportunity to require all Leaders and Managers involved in the management and administration of the exams to perform their duties professionally, ethically and in accordance with the rules, Rules and Procedures for the Examination and Management of the Examinations as directed by the Examinations Council of Tanzania. The government would not like to hear of any deliberate challenges posed by those responsible for the management and operation of the examinations.
It should be noted that since the Free Basic Education Program began in January, 2016, a total of Shs. 937,548,685,734.72 has been used to finance our children's education.
A total of approximately 12 million students from Elementary Education to Form Six benefit from the program.
