The Karanga Leather Industries Company Co. Ltd (KLIC Ltd) is established as a joint venture company limited between Public Service Social Security Fund (PSSSF) and Tanzania Prisons Service through its company known as Prisons Corporation Sole to undertake development and operate leather Industries in Karanga Area, Moshi Municipality.

POSITION: Machine Operator (250 Positions)
a) QUALIFICATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Holder of Form Four certificate at least with three D pass with a Diploma or certificate in shoes or leather articles making, VETA certificate or other related certificate, Diploma in Mechanical/electrical engineering or any other related education with working experience in shoes, textile or other leather articles making industry is added advantage.
b) MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate machine as per machine supplier operating manual, agreed Service Operating guidelines, operational and quality guidelines. Follow work instructions- implement DO, THINK, CHECK and ACT at his/her level, record down time as required;
- Monitor quality of product by conducting quality checks during machine operation as per Quality Plan and agree quality check guidelines. Monitor product quality: -Once machine begins operation; check visual and physical quality parameters after every 30 minutes, deviations must be identified, reported and acted on within agreed time;
- Complete shift handover process with outgoing and incoming operator, the handover report should contain information such as production volume, machine problems, machine cleanliness, brand change or material change if any and must be complied accurately as per work instructionsand procedures;
- Clean machine and its surrounding before and after operating the machine as per agreed work instructions and procedures;
- Verify materials supplied against Production order by checking Production Order and verifying it against actual materials supplied in machine.Complete a shift/Brand change over checklist and report to supervisor any deviation of material observed during verification as per agreed format;
- Maintain safety at work as per KLICL safety guidelines and requirements;
- Complete sorting of produced shoes and other leather articles, identify cause of rejects (if any) and report to supervisor;
- Perform any other duties assigned by Supervisor.
POSITION: Cost Accountant (1 Position)
a) QUALIFICATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- Holder of Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field from a recognized Higher Learning Institutions plus CPA (T) certificate with at least 5 years’ experience in Cost Accounting in manufacturing industries; Knowledge of IFRS and IPSAS will be an added advantage
b) MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES
- Planning, Studying, and collecting data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory and labour;
- Analysing changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods or services provided, to determine effects on cost;
- Analysing actual manufacturing costs and preparing periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs;
- Making estimates of new and proposed product costs;
- Providing management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services;
- Developing and Maintaining Cost Accounting System;
- Providing support to other functional areas of the Company;
- Manufacturing – works with Production Manager/Factory Manager to identify cost savings projects, analysing and forecasting the impact on cost structure, and assisting in the development of the business casecost- benefit analysis for capital investments
- Inventory Control – investigates inventory adjustments resulting from periodic cycle counts and annual physical inventory
- Purchasing/Procurement – analysing purchases price variances & monitors material price trends to support price negotiations with vendors
- Preparing end-month closing, including year-end inventory and monthly cycle counts, and analyse inventory evaluation, and inventory roll forward;
- Performing any other duties as directed by Supervisor.
a) QUALIFICATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- Holder of Bachelor Degree or NTA level 8 in Materials Management or Procurement, Supplies Management or Procurement and Logistics Management or Supply Chain Management from a recognized Higher Learning Institutions. The candidate must be registered by the Procurement and Supplies Professional and Technician Board (PSPTB) as a graduate professional (GP) or a holder of CPSP with not less than two (2) years’ work experience in a relevant field.
b) MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the preparation of Request for Quotation Initiations to Bid, Requests for Proposal and co-ordination of their timely dispatch;
- Assist the Procurement and Logistics Officer in maintaining current up to date Procurement documents and Manuals;
- Researching pricing obtaining quotes locally on low value items;
- Assist the coordination with the selected bidder to ensure completion of administrative processes including Bid Security, contract award notice and that contract documents are distributed accordingly;
- Coordinate with requestors and make sure the right materials needed. Find out the sample of material to be purchased if necessary;
- Assist in preparing procurement evaluation reports;
- Provide purchased materials to the responsible receiving office and do all actions for completing the process;
- Maintain appropriated records to ensure that procurement process, decision, and contractual agreement are accurately documented for accountability and audit purpose;
- Perform other duties related field as assigned by Supervisor.
POSITION: Quality Supervisor (3 Positions)
a) QUALIFICATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- Holder of Bachelor Degree in science, Production and Operations Management with at least 3 years working experience as a Quality supervisor/manager in a manufacturing industry especially in tannery, sole, shoes and leather articles.
b) MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible to maintain and implement Quality standard, policy, manual, procedure, work instruction and all other related Quality documentations;
- Responsible for all activities related to Quality control, Quality Improvements and Quality assurance;
- Responsible for product quality monitoring, reporting process and product conformance;
- Ensure proper operation and utilization of quality systems and other Quality Control instruments during production as well as reporting to Technical support of any deviances from operational targets;
- Implement projects related to quality improvements;
- Monitor and improve factory sanitation;
- Perform any other tasks given by the supervisor.
JOB POSITION: Machine Technician – Electrical (2 Positions)
a) QUALIFICATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- Holder of Diploma/advance Diploma in electrical Engineering with at least two years’ experience in the field of maintenance, troubleshooting/fault finding in a wide variety of electrical equipment.
b) MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor electrical machine performance by implementing agreed work instructions and routines as per company policy and procedures, operating manuals and guidelines. This includes but is not limited to spare parts handover and replacement, compiling shift reports on problems identified, solved and unresolved;
- Review and report on machine performance highlighting breakdown and recommended action plans as per agreed shift handover routines and work schedule. Complete technical repairs of machines as per agreed job requests and schedules. Identify risks and documenting as per agreed reporting format and time;
- Perform preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance of all electrical related equipment including but not limited to motors, fans, solenoid valves, drivers, controllers, HMI devices, contactors, sensors, circuit breakers, LV/HV switchboards and any associated power and control wiring and cables, as per work schedules and routines Solve quality problems that impact production runs. (Do think act at your level);
- Troubleshoot to identify various machine problems that may arise during production and report the solutions that have been implemented. Report in the agreed format and within the agreed time. Refer unsolved issues to your supervisor. Use DO, THINK, ACT, IMPLEMENT at your level approach when working in the machine to resolve problems in the shortest time possible;
- Clean Electrical components in all machines regularly as agreed. This includes cleaning machine panels, electrical switch gear; AVRs and other machine components as per agreed work schedule;
- Improve machine performance through: Implementing regular maintenance service schedules as agreed Implementing needed repairs proficiently so that down time and repeated breakdown occurrence is minimized going forward, Maintain service history for each machine/ shift;
- Resolve minor breakdowns, offering support on the design of minor parts, and carry out modifications as approved. Record/ Report minor breakdown as per agree format and period;
- Perform any other duties assigned by Supervisor.
JOB POSITION: System Administrator (1 Position)
a) QUALIFICATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- Holder of Bachelor Degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering or related IT discipline, with at least 3 years of working experience in complex system design, programming and systems software and support; excellent oral/written communication and documentation skills; able to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
b) MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, monitor, upgrade and install updated network systems;
- Analyse and support computer and system issues;
- Evaluate and modify system performance;
- Assign configuration, authentication and authorization of directory services;
- Develop and maintain system specifications and file server;
- Ensure records of system downtime and equipment inventory are properly maintained;
- Develop systems and procedures to maintain security and protect systems from unauthorized use, acts of nature and user abuse;
- Develop programs, procedures and documentation for backup and restoration of operating systems and applications;

a) QUALIFICATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- Holder of Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field plus CPA (T) certificate with at least 5 years of working experience in Manufacturing Industries MBA degree will be added advantage.
b) MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES
- Define and Assess the financial state of the Company;
- Support strategic planning and strategic initiatives of the company,
- including acquisitions and investment appraisal, by providing financial planning and modelling skills;
- Produce accurate and timely management reports, including an analysis of sales and operational expenditure;
- Prepare cash flow projections of the total income and total benefit of the Company;
- Work with individual departments to prepare budgets and consolidate them into one overall corporate budget;
- Oversee the development of accurate plans and budgets for all the activities.
- Determine which of the company’s products or product lines generate the
- Gauge the company’s overall financial health, primarily by using key financial ratios such as the debt to equity ratio, current ratio, and interest coverage ratio;
- Analyse performance against budgets and prepare other pertinent financial analysis;

a) QUALIFICATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- Holder of Bachelor Degree preferably in BSc Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, or Food Science with at least 3 years working experience as a Quality Improvement and Assurance Supervisor in a manufacturing industry
b) MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES
- Co-ordinate and monitor Quality Control equipment rejuvenation, maintenance, installation-qualification, and calibration;
- Motivate and promote a performing environment within the team through;
- Support projects related to quality improvements;
- Develop analysis and reporting tools for product quality data to assist with planning of corrective and preventive actions. Monitor to ensure that the quality targets, product quality and process capability are achieved and lead the corrective and preventive actions where appropriate under Quality Manager Supervision;
- Responsible for coordination of Technical training aiming for Product Quality
- continuous improvements to Quality Control operators and shop floor employees;
- Ensure proper operation and utilization of Quality system and other Quality Control instruments during production as well as reporting to Technical support of any deviances from operational targets;

- Investigate source of non-conformities in line with QUIP procedure/Work instructions and Quality Manual to minimize non conforming product in the market;

JOB POSITION: Quality Control Operator (5 Positions)
a) QUALIFICATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- Holder of Diploma Laboratory in Science or the equivalent with at least Oneyear experience in a similar job is recommended.
b) MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES
- Periodically collecting and recording of samples for process confirmation and analysis as per Quality Manual, Quality Plan and Process Control (Physical measurements, visual control;
- Follow up change over procedure in pre-production, start-up, material tests, prototype activities to avoid materials mix up;
- Ensure that all Quality Control instruments are operational and calibration check is performed as per instrument manual and relevant procedures. Report Non-conforming equipment is to QI team and confirm product after machine maintenance;
- Perform proper inspection of all incoming materials at receiving warehouse
- before storage;
- Perform data collection, recording, analysis and timely reporting for any allocated projects e.g. NPD, Process control, machine qualification, Equipment Calibration; using defined QC database;
- Monitor and improve factory sanitation;
- Perform any other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
JOB TITLE: Quality Manager (1 Position)
a) QUALIFICATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- Holder of Bachelor Degree in Science with at least 5 years working experience as a Quality supervisor/manager in a reputable manufacturing firm.
b) MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible to develop, maintain and implement Quality standard, policy, manual, procedure, work instruction and all other related Quality documentations;
- Responsible for all activities related to Quality control, Quality Improvements and Quality assurance;
- Responsible for supervision, planning and allocation of Quality head count;
- Responsible for product quality monitoring, reporting process and product conformance;
- Motivate and promote a performing environment within the team through; Delegation & Coaching; Best Practice programs for quality; Identify the training needs of subordinates;
- Ensure proper operation and utilization of quality systems and other Quality Control instruments during production as well as reporting to Technical support of any deviances from operational targets;

- Responsible for co-ordination of qualification and maintenance of machines and processes that can affect quality in co-ordination with Engineering, Production and Quality;
- Responsible for New Product Development (NPD) projects;

a) QUALIFICATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- Holder of Bachelor Degree or Advanced Diploma/Diploma in Engineering fields e.g. Leather, Textiles, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial, etc. or Equivalent Qualifications from a recognized institution with at least five years working experience in a Manufacturing environment with supervisory experience. Degree in Business administration or MBA will be added advantage.
b) MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure the production of quality shoes at a minimum cost to meet required production target;
- Understand and Execute the production planning program by optimizing the available resources;
- Ensure shift, daily, weekly, monthly and yearly production reports are prepared and delivered on time;
- Communicate and ensure that operating policies and procedures are known and followed, as well as maintaining effective employees relations;
- Ensure employees planned trainings and programs are implemented;
- Maintain production volume, Overall Equipment Efficiency, Productivity, Reject Ratio and other production performance indicators in the range assigned by his supervisor and as per Annual Plan and Strategic Plans;
- Plan and implement leave schedule for all production employees and ensure proper succession plan within the production department to accommodate absence of employees;
- Achieve and maintain a safe work environment and ensure that workers adhere to EHS requirements. Shall identify and control EHS hazards and risks, maintain healthy and safe workplace, and ensure employees receive appropriate EHS training and required. Know EHS legal and requirements, and implement that fall within their authority and within their area of responsibility;
- On a day-to-day basis, solve problems in the production and take full control of the entire factory/site in the absence of other functional managers;

a) QUALIFICATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Holder of FTC/Diploma/advance Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with at least two years working experience in manufacturing industries especially in textiles, shoes or other leather products industry
b) MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support production by being available to maintain a machine incase of any breakdown, out of setting or major operation fault;
- Complete maintenance routine and status report of the machine as per Standard Operating Procedure and maintenance schedule. Deviations must be identified, reported and acted as per agreed schedule. Clean machine and its surrounding before maintenance as per agreed work instructions and procedures;
- Complete technical repairs of machines as per agreed job requests and schedules. Identify risks and documenting as per agreed reporting format and time;
- Reviewing and reporting machine breakdowns, rational and recommended action plans as per shift hand over routines and work schedules;
- Solve quality problems that impact production runs;
- Reduce downtime by: Complete product inspection as per process control sheet, Audit machine for cleanliness and report at end of each shift, Analyzing breakdown trends and history, identifying risks and reporting within agreed format;
- Use DO, THINK, ACT, IMPLEMENT approach when working in the machine to resolve problems in the shortest time possible;
- Perform any other duties assigned by Supervisor.
POSITION: Factory Supervisor (1 Position)
a) QUALIFICATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- Holder of Bachelor Degree or Advanced Diploma, Diploma in Engineering fields e.g. Textile, Leather, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial, etc., or Equivalent Qualifications with at least two years working experience in shoes/leather articles making with some supervisory experience. Degree in Business administration or MBA will be added advantage
b) MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES
