Tz Prime Minster Instruct Happi Follow Up Kilolo District Office

Tanzanian Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa has instructed Iringa Regional Commissioner (RC) Ally Happi to follow up on the office of Kilolo district chief Asia Abdallah who, among other things, has rejected 10 drivers.

The move is based on 14 staff members including 10 drivers being evacuated after District Commissioner Asia Abdallah claimed they were not working properly.

However, the Prime Minister said it was important for leaders to recognize their responsibilities in the execution of their duties as well as to recognize, care for and value all cadres including drivers, so it is best to prepare them by giving them timely guidance as they are human and family.

The Prime Minister issued the order on Friday, September 27, 2019 while addressing Kilolo district staff, Kilolo district council and council councilors during the fourth day of his official visit to Iringa.

He emphasized the importance of the co-workers.

Majaliwa said despite the development activities they are working on in the district but are not co-operative, so he wants the district superintendent to make sure he cooperates well with his colleagues because many staff have been relocated since he came into the office and even those brought in complain and ask for relocation.

He said many staff in the office felt he was helpless including his assistants as drivers, archivists and secretaries.

"Even the former Administrative Secretary of this district was relocated due to a misunderstanding of DC and even the current District Administrative Secretary is uncomfortable wanting to move for the same reasons."

“We must acknowledge our supporters and their responsibilities.  The office of the District Commissioner is unlikely to be this way, should there be a problem getting rid of all staff, the Regional Commissioner is following up with this, ”he said.

"Here let us know who the Regional Director is we want to know what kind of driver your DC wants, since he has come here all 10 drivers are not good," he said.

Majaliwa said, "In order to work well you need to be united and work as a team as together with the activities you are doing you have no co-operation."

“DC now you will be alone and you will be writing yourself, driving yourself because they are not all that good.  The Regional Commissioner I hand over the names of these officials to address this issue.  And the Regional Administrative Secretary should not bring other staff here until the matter is resolved, ”he said

In another step, the Residents have instructed all councils in the country to make sure that they allocate some of the funds in their local collections for the implementation of strategic projects in their areas such as the construction of health centers, council roads and markets rather than relying on funding from the Central Government.  only.

He said the Kilolo district which does not have a bus station should allocate money from its collections and start a project for the station which will improve service to the people as well, which will help in raising the revenue of the province.

Earlier, Kilolo MP (CCM), Venance Mwamoto thanked the Government headed by the President of Tanzania, John Magufuli for funding the implementation of various development projects in their district including electricity, of which 94 villages in 54 villages are connected to the service and  the remainder will be electrically connected by December 2019.

Commenting on water projects the MP said of the 94 villages in the district, only 15 villages still have no reliable water supply but are continuing the monitoring process to ensure that they have access to clean and safe water.

Earlier, the Prime Minister has inspected the district hospital construction project and received a report on the construction of the hospital where he said he was satisfied with the construction costing shs.  4 billion and he used the opportunity to congratulate the district leaders, including the Director and the contractor.
